Each spring, IU Northwest Weekend MBA students travel the world for a 10-day cultural immersion classroom experience, learning firsthand international business practices.
The students’ most recent global journey to Thailand was captured in an IU Northwest-produced documentary, “Culture, Business & Higher Education: The Thai Experience.” From visits to historical temples, to meetings with executives of international companies, the documentary details the trip from the MBA students’ perspective.
Aaron Pigors, IU Northwest MBA student and interim Instructional Media Services Director, attended the trip as the film producer.
“The most intriguing parts of the trip weren’t necessarily the planned activities, but in simply observing the Thai people, their environment, and their way of life,” Pigors said. “Being out of the classroom and immersed in the Thai culture was a valuable opportunity and memorable experience for me, both as a filmmaker and as a student of international business.”
The Weekend MBA students will soon be jetting off to Beijing and Shanghai March 15 – 24, under the leadership and guidance of Professor of Marketing Subir Bandyopadhyay, Ph.D.
