IU Northwest to host Adult Learner Preview Night May 29

Prospective students invited to tour campus, meet faculty, learn about college life

Tuesday Apr 09, 2013

Indiana University Northwest is an ideal choice for adult learners who wish to return to college while still immersed in the duties of their busy lives.

Those with working and domestic commitments can still find time to pursue their degree thanks to flexible options for courses and degree completion, most notably a growing number of online offerings and both day and evening courses. There are also plentiful scholarship opportunities for both adult and transfer students.

Prospective students are invited to learn more about opportunities at the campus’s inaugural Adult Learner Preview Night at 6 p.m., Wednesday, May 29, in the Savannah Center, located at 3400 Broadway in Gary, Ind.

Those who are new to college or have previously earned college credits at another higher education institution, are invited to speak with faculty members, learn about academic programs, tour the campus, and attend a financial aid and admissions presentation.

IU Northwest offers a wide range of academic programs and disciplines for Northwest Indiana students wishing to earn their IU degrees close to home.

IU Northwest’s academic units include the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Health and Human Services, the School of Business and Economics, and the School of Education.

Classes at IU Northwest are taught by committed and knowledgeable faculty members with academic and professional expertise in their fields, and small class sizes ensure that students receive valuable personalized attention from instructors.

Best of all, IU Northwest is centrally located in the heart of the Northwest Indiana region, just a half-mile from I-80/94 at Broadway. The University Center in Portage provides a convenient off-campus location where students, particularly Porter County students, may take some of their required courses closer to home.

To attend the Adult Learner Preview Night, please RSVP by May 24, 2013 by calling (219) 981-4348; electronic registration is available online at www.bit.ly/iunopenhouse.
