Free wireless internet service for IU campus visitors

Visitors on all Indiana University campuses can use the free IU Guest wireless service to connect to the internet.

Important:

The IU Guest wireless service is intended for use by campus visitors only; IU students, faculty, staff, and affiliates should use eduroam or IU Secure for on-campus wireless internet connections. IU Guest does not encrypt traffic between your device and the wireless access point; UITS cannot ensure the security of IU Guest connections.

Visitors from eduroam subscriber institutions can connect to the eduroam wireless network on any IU campus.

To connect your device to the free wireless internet service for IU campus visitors:

  1. In your device settings, make sure wireless networking (or Wi-Fi) is turned on.
  2. In the list of available networks, select IU Guest.
  3. If your browser doesn't open to the IU Guest page automatically, launch your browser.
  4. On the "IU Guest WiFi" screen, enter your email address, check the box to accept the terms of use, and then select Connect.

If you need help, contact the Support Center.

Note:
  • IU Guest wireless is not available in the IUB Halls of Residence except in selected common areas.
  • In the IUB libraries, access to subscription library resources is not available on the IU Guest wireless network.
  • After 24 hours, the IU Guest connection will expire and you will be prompted with a registration renewal.
  • UITS does not support devices running Symbian OS (such as Nokia smartphones).
